The information we collect

We collect Personal Information about you in order to assign shops based on our customers’ requirements and to process, analyze and report on the results of mystery shopping surveys. For example, when you register to become a mystery shopper, we collect your contact information and other information about you so that we can match you to particular shopping assignments. We also collect any information you may provide about yourself in your mystery shopping surveys. “Personal Information” includes name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, date of birth, gender and other information that identifies you personally.

In addition to the information you voluntarily provide to us, when you visit our web site, our servers automatically record technical information from your computer, including your Internet Protocol address, the web site you are coming from, information about the browser you use, and the date and time of your visit. We use your IP address to verify your identity, but do not otherwise associate this technical information with personal information that you may voluntarily give us.

For example, we use your name, telephone number and e-mail address to contact you when work is available or if we need to validate any of your responses and to give you feedback on the work you have undertaken for us.

We use your postal address, date of birth, gender and other information you provide to us to ensure that you match the profile requirements set out by our customers. We may also use these details to analyze the responses from all shoppers and determine whether or not any trends amongst certain profiles emerge.

We use server log information, such as IP address and other statistical information, to learn how visitors use our website, and, based on this and other information, to improve our site. GfK Mystery Shopping does not use your data for direct marketing purposes.

Sharing of Information

From time to time we may share personal information with our affiliates, vendors, and service providers in order to operate the Mystery Shopping program. If you are a registered shopper, you may be asked to provide your first and last name to managers at a store to which you have been assigned, as well as a verification form or summary of your experiences.
